I'm sure the Clinical Instructors are very annoyed at me by now.

This morning I was assigned to a kid who was given the MGH (may go home) so I had less to do than the others, lucky me. Unluckyly, the kid was not so cooperative.

He trashed about and cried for what seemed like the whole time I was to give the meds. !T_T!

So I went back to my CI and asked if there were other alternatives. She said "It's your duty as a nurse to make sure the client takes the medicine" I kept on asking more questions and she said. "Don't give me a Toxic morning." I answered with "Ma'am it's your duty to answer my questions." (I pay her to teach me, not expect me to come up with answers I don't know)

.....round one finished. I had the father powderize the Metronidazole and add sugar to it then had the kid drink the solution which ended up with the kid asking for his medications one hour early later on.

Earlier the CI called me Mr. Reyes (Reyes is female too) then after that she said "Ms. Tan why are you standing there" (I wanted to ask a question so I was beside her at the nurses station)

I replied "Ma'am, Sanchez po apilido ko" (Ma'am my surname is Sanchez) (I'm still pure chinese, My dad bought the surname). That had the staff nurses there laughing. I was sure she was glaring at me..XD (sama ng tingin nya..)

Final round was the worst.

My client's father handed me one Cloxicillin for his son to be given at 12nn. I was sure he said they were going to leave at 5pm. So I held on to that capsule..When I went back at 12 they'd already left. -_-"

So i was left with one capsule from the client.. and I told my CI. I asked her what is the standard procedure to this situation and she said "Taguin mo. bibigyan nalang kita ng Violation slip mamaya" (Keep it, I'll just give you a violation slip later) -_-" that's what I get for being honest
